The Canvas Cafe Closing

The Canvas Gallery in San Francisco is closing. It is a great space to work remotely with a laptop. They've had reliable, free wi-fi for years, plus an entire wall of tables with power.

The cafes which support us laptop jockies should devise alternative business models. They aren't just selling coffee and food. They are selling space, bandwidth, and power. Subscription services for coffee, premium access to power, etc., are the way to go. In San Francisco there are enough folks dependant on these cafes that I think a business model that supports remote works could work.
